Glasgow used to be and will be an emerging Global City alongside with other global cities of different kinds. This interactive game is designed as an innovative quiz based on global cities, including Glasgow, with a special set of questions for participants to read landscapes/street views/figures & group pictures of different cities and propose a continent (1 point), country (2 points) and city (3 points) with extra knowledge on one geographical fact about the city. The interactive quiz can be done in a team or by an individual in a competition.
The Global City Theorem, raised by John Friedmann (1986), is an important topic in Urban Studies and Human Geography. Knowing about cities in the Global South also resonates with the recent trend of decolonising curriculum in geographical education. Participants will be able to appreciate ''the other Global cities'' out of Scotland and the UK. Recognising the landscape and exploring cities from a global perspective will motivate participants to explore the global cities by themselves.
