Video game showcase and gaming session

An behind shot of someone playing the game

Lifelong wellbeing theme

What’s on offer?

We are offering an opportunity for you to have a hands-on, interactive experience of gaming, which is driven by social science and arts and humanities research. We will introduce and give you a chance to play a new video game, “SEvEN: Seven Voices, One Future”. You will interact with seven mini-games, based on real-life climate actions led by Minoritised Ethnic-led organisations and initiatives across Scotland.

What’s it about?

“SEvEN” seeks to amplify Minoritised Ethnic people’s voices and the role of Traditional Ecological Knowledge in Scotland’s sustainable future. Set in the Western Scottish Highlands in 2045, SEvEN features the ‘voices’ of seven Minoritised Ethnic people. The game invites you to reflect on what a sustainable future truly means and for whom, through an immersive and thought-provoking narrative of the future, where Minoritised Ethnic people’s voices and actions are centred.

Who’s leading the event?

Co-created by a research team at the University of Glasgow led by Dr Mark Wong (College of Social Sciences), Dr Tim Peacock (College of Arts, Co-Director of Games and Gaming Lab)
