'The True Cost' documentary (2015) delves into the environmental and social impacts of the fast fashion industry. It highlights the need for sustainable accounting practices to account for the true costs of production and consumption, including the environmental and social consequences. The film connects these issues to the well-being of workers, communities, and the planet.
Screening of this documentary will be followed by Panel Discussion on Sustainable Living. Experts and practitioners will be invited to a panel discussion focusing on sustainable living practices which also provides opportunity to engage audience from public. Topics can include sustainable consumption, sustainable energy, reducing carbon footprint, and sustainable transportation.
This event will be supported by social media campaign which will focus on sustainable living tips, climate change facts, and actions individuals can take for lifelong wellbeing. Participants will be encouraged to share their own ideas and experiences (fostering a sense of community engagement) that how and how far they can take their own environmental impact into account based on 'self-accounting' practices that while make them environmentally accountable they also enhance theirs and others lifelong wellbeing.
