Panel discussion
Join Tim Cole from the University of Bristol to discuss Holocaust histories, geographies and memories that will examine the relationship between genocide and disappearance.
Tim will explore the centrality of disappearance to the experience of Jews living in occupied Europe during the war, while also thinking about the ways that this varied from place to place and person to person. He will also reflect on how stories of genocide themselves can – and do – disappear. Rather than memory of disappearance being assured, the Holocaust has variously been remembered and forgotten.
