What’s on offer?

Explore how age-friendly design can help you live the life you want as you get older, and learn about design tips and adaptations that could help you create a home that supports you to live the life you love. This exhibition is an opportunity to examine the new homes we have designed alongside participants, including a video tour of our new age-friendly home designs and a preview of our upcoming serious game 'Our House'. Hear more about how inclusive and age-friendly home design can benefit people from all walks of life, including people living with dementia and people who experience changes in mobility and movement.

What’s it about?

The Designing Homes for Healthy Cognitive Ageing (DesHCA) project has been on a mission to capture the perspectives of over 700 older individuals and professionals since 2021. Our pop-up focuses on sharing insights collected from across the research project, aiming to put valuable information about age-friendly design and adaptation into the hands of people who need it in a way that works for them. This pop-up challenges the idea that age-friendly design begins and ends at shower-chairs and white PVC handles, and invites people to think creatively about the kinds of homes they would like to live in as they age.

Who’s leading the event?

Dr Catherine Pemble, Impact Research Fellow, University of Stirling
