To open the event, we will present key findings from a research project that explored racial inequalities and the pandemic, carried out by Co-POWeR - Consortium on Practices of Wellbeing & Resilience in Black, Asian & Minority Ethnic Families & Communities.
We will then show a film made as part of this project titled "Belonging: Tiger Bay Boxing Club".
Participants will then be invited to join us for a discussion about what we can learn from the film and take back to workplaces and schools.
The importance of community-based youth services, including sporting clubs, for the promotion of well-being for racially minoritised young people. We explore what makes these services spaces of safety and belonging.
Everyone is welcome!
Youth workers, social workers and policy makers and young people.
Everyone is welcome to join us for refreshments and networking after the film and workshop. The event will close at 6pm.
